I really wanted to post up some photos from Little India that we took back in Photography module but I couldn’t find the files and I couldn’t find the external harddisk with the backups either.

Munkao is love. I don’t know why I remembered him suddenly but the last last time I was in KL I saw him present for Pecha Kucha and it was awesome.

How is this not awesome?

PLAY no longer accepts students passes as proof of ID for entry.

I can’t wait to get paid. Kind of shopped around Heeren and Cine today and found so much nice stuff. It’s always when you’re not looking for something you find so much stuff. Also Fourskin’s having a sale, of up to 70%. I want the beige color dotted cardigan they’re practically giving away for $30…

Your Call by Secondhand Serenade makes me cry. The power of emotive vocals and lyrics that I can immediately relate to.

This was done, half heartedly, in 3 hours.

Of course it could be better. The shadows are inconsistent and layout is a mess, the tacky glow effect on the type has to go in the final version of course.

I’m fucking bored and I feel like I’m wasting time in class. I spent the whole of the past three days doing absolutely nothing while watching my classmates stress over their work, and I caught up and finished this in a timeframe of within a quarter of a normal work day.

Back to slacking.

All of this makes me want to work as less as possible with computers.

As such I have decided that I shall have no pity for people who stubbornly choose not to get a Mac or iPod over some inferior product. It’s their loss, and if they are happy with having something not as good, all the better for them. I guess this is also therefore why I have managed to sell so much during my stint at the Apple reseller. Get a Creative, see if I care.

“Tech?” “No, Phil.” “I see.”.

Oh, hit me with your best shot

I am so bored in class it’s not even funny. So we’ve started on our final assignment which is to assemble a series of photos into a robot. I’m getting the same feeling like last block’s Digital Media Fundamentals final. It’s like I don’t think it’s not worth the effort. I think I have Photoshop phobia.

Yesterday was spent doing absolutely nothing… productive. Arrived in school without any reference photos and snuck out with Jarnah's G7, shot random stuff around school. Went back to class while Simon was looking over at people’s shots… so he didn’t know I did absolutely nothing at all in terms of effort on taking stock photos for the assignment over the weekend. Talk about nice timing.

Yeeling's job requires her to leave rather early, like straight after class, which sucks.

I bought the Guitar Hero DVD to school and installed it on the Mac Pros in my row. We were rocking with the keyboards and surprisingly my precision in hitting the notes are actually higher. And maybe because the Mac Pros don’t make the game laggish like my Macbook Pro does. D:

I don’t think anything interesting happened.

Today I woke up at 9:16 AM so I was like, screw it, I’m going back to bed. Woke up again at 12++ PM and decided to get a move on and do some chores. So I used the color run remover thing bought at Spotlight on Saturday and soaked the 4 or so pieces of white clothing that got stained a tint of blue in hot water plus the powder thing that dissolved. The box said specifically not to inhale the dust or come into contact with the powder which I did and my palms kind of stung for a while.

Decided hey, might as well do laundry in the process. So I did. Lydia decided to buy a dog which they named Noodles. So Noodles is kept outside on the patio, in an area enclosed by wire fencing.

It keeps shitting.

When I went out the hang the clothes and towels I was met with this stench that could only have come from the filthy dog. I swear, as if the pollution added to the air by shredding fur is not enough, we’re so gonna get pimples from the dirty dog hair filled air. The area which it is enclosed in was littered with shit everywhere.

Went down to get money, I have $30 to survive until Saturday. I have no idea how I’m going to pay off the phone and internet bills which are accumulating because I haven’t been paying them for 3 months now. Also took the pants for altering, finally.

Arrived in school. More Guitar Hero.

You’re in a strange part of our town

Sunday was totally wasted on doing nothing, haha.

I did hop over to Century Square around dinner time to try my luck to see if the top most floor comic shop still stocks Guitar Hero III for PC/Mac.

They did. And I bought the fucker for $142.40.

Have been rocking since. I still can’t do Hard songs, though. Attempted Reptilia a few times on Hard and I keep dying when the orange/blue double frets appear on the bridge riff.

It’s lunch time and my stomach rumbles. I’ll head to school I suppose, after a quick shower and bite of something to tide me over until salvation from the cheap food at TP’s canteens saves me.

I still need to get my pants altered and that cover still eludes me. I’m too lazy to go shop.

Am lining up jobs because seriously, I need money. Fuck.

Listening to: Reptilia by The Strokes

Thursday

During the lesson on Thursday morning, Jiayi was showing Yeeling some blogs and they were looking at Zhou's. The “I’m Chinese” Zhou. So I paid a visit and turns out her blog makes a real good read, her style of writing is entertaining.

A bit of clarification of the “I’m Chinese” thing: when poly first started, international students had to all go to the auditorium to sign a tuition grant bonding contract with the Singaporean government that basically requires us to work in Singapore for a period of 3 years after graduation. So me and Grace saw Zhou there and was surprised because we thought she was Singaporean. So I asked where she’s from and she answered: “I’m Chinese”. That confused us for a bit- prompting Grace to say, “Aren’t we all Chinese”? She proceeded to do her -_- face, then it hit us: she’s from China.

Hahaha.

We wanted to go to Suntec with the intent of watching Alyssa's team play Counterstrike, at WCG. I’m still getting used to the idea that she’s a gamer girl, a good one at that– her team was the only all girls team and made it to the Top 16.

I vaguely remember having lunch at Biz Park, walking to the bus stop and waiting forever for 518 to come. Grace came along because she wanted to see if we could find her a cheap frame from Daiso.

Got off at Raffles Place because Edwin wanted to pick up a camera bag from Crumpler. The bag had to be put inside another bag to be carried around, I so totally didn’t get the point of that. I mean, you wanna drop $$$ on a bag that has to go into another bag anyway? lol. It cost $81, maisiaosiao.

There’s this shop at Raffles Place which sells pretty designer things. It’s down at the basement where all the restaurants are. So pretty, so expensive.

After a while we arrived at Suntec, met Alyssa and her team mates only briefly because they had to rush off for an interview. Didn’t get to see them play, which was rather disappointing. Some Red Bull promoter with a fake accent appeared and gave us all free cans. Yeeling found a corner near the Singtel booth which had free play Guitar Hero. The next 2-3 hours were spent in front of that particular HDTV twisting our wrists strumming and pressing the goddamn buttons. Trying to, anyway. I managed to proceed from Easy to Medium, not a big feat but not bad considering it was my first time and it was all done in less than 5 songs.

I am now officially hooked onto Guitar Hero.

Rushed to Vivocity because the Daiso there is nicer. It was technically Jiayi's first time at Vivocity, can you believe it?! Daiso was fun. Edwin kept saying “you’re falling under the Daiso spell” as we kept picking up stuff to buy. In the end we put back a lot of the crap. I bought a plastic card holder thing which is a cheap substitute for a really gorgeous one I saw earlier at Raffles. Damn it. They weren’t selling any nice frames either.

I wish I’m loaded with money.

Discount sushi after 9pm at Cold Storage to be brought up to the rooftop sky garden to eat. Sat on the wooden planked deck and chatted.

Jing Guo was drinking some of the cheap ass disgusting beer I bought and he started talking a lot. We all were kinda happy cause he’s finally opened up but turns out it was only because of the alcohol. -_-

The few of us were mad dashing to Harbourfront and through Outram Park to catch the last trains home.

But not before doing this:

Friday

We all agreed to meet the next day (Friday) for another round of free jamming to Guitar Hero. Jing Guo was faithfully there from 9:45, I arrived with Grace at 12+, the rest never showed up hahaha. Typical.

It was really fun. The three of us and this girl from VSC year 2 who was working at the Xbox 360 area rocked for a few hours. My wrist were hurting so much! Guitar Hero III’s adaption of “Reptilia” by The Strokes is really nice to jam to.

After a while me and Grace left to meet Fidelia for some shopping at Bugis. But not before we ate at this Vietnamese restaurant at Suntec Food Republic. It was amazing, amazing food. And maybe because we’ve tolerated bad food court food for too long.

Got some stuff at Bugis. Need to alter one of the shorts and a cover to go with the shirt, but I’m pretty satisfied at the purchases. Felt bad because we made Fidelia late for a birthday party she needed to attend.

Ended up going to Spotlight to get buttons to replace the cheap looking plastic ones on the clothes me and Grace bought. I wanted to check the price for Guitar Hero for Mac so we went to Wheelock to ask at the Apple reseller shop. Turns out it isn’t in stock and it costs a friggin’ $189, because of licensing fees from Aerosmith (they’re only selling THAT version now, GH3 is supposedly “retired” and sold out everywhere).

Went to the Borders at the ground floor to flip some books while waiting for Yeeling to reply. Discovered that the ADM seniors who did the fashion show earlier a few months back copied their concept from somewhere else. And we all thought it was rather original, the clean lines created by white, and the simple cut out foliage. As Picasso once said, “Good designers copy, great designers steal.”

Late dinner with Yeeling, later joined by her friend Joanne and boyfriend. Had the amazing beef noodles from Wisma Food Republic. Caught the last train home.

Saturday

I don’t want to talk about today. Won’t go into detail anyway. Met Bryan at what would be my third time at the Suntec WCG area. Spent the next few hours trying to hunt for a wired USB Xbox 360 X-Plorer Guitar Hero controller but with no avail. All the retailers only carry the bundle Aerosmith version which costs a shitload. So not worth it.

Since I was at Funan anyway I went around asking for prices of DSLRs. All the big name hardware retailers like Harvey Norman, Courts etc are selling a D60 kit (18-55mm VR lens) for $988. Found a shop which has the kit going for $915. Of all the places only Challenger still has a D40 in stock, going for $600++.

I need money.

Was supposed to meet Franco to go with to PLAY, ended up waiting an hour and missed free entry. So I went home.

I’m not in the best of moods at the current moment.

I’m going to try and look for a cover for the shirt I bought plus ask about altering for my shorts tomorrow.

Paramore’s “Misery Business” is stuck in my head.

Whoa, whatever that makes you break ’cause I’ve got him where I want him now, ow.

Yes I’m aware those aren’t the actual lyrics but who the hell could have known it’s “I never meant to brag”? I believe those who listened to it the first time around must have thought the same thing.

Oh god it feels so good, ’cause I’ve got him where I want him now.

So Applied Graphics Design class lessons have moved onto Photoshop, we did masks today.
Lunch was with Jiayi, and the Aly & AJ couple. Japanese food at MENSA sucks, really. I suppose the bento boxes (which are a favorite of Yeeling’s, it seems) are better but they’re $5, I can get two chicken chops with sides for that amount at Biz Park.

I saw Kenneth at Design canteen a bit later, he looks really good in formal, or whatever he was clad in.

We originally wanted to go watch The Mummy 3, but Quek disappeared with Phoebe and gang to Ikea, to eat.

Yeeling had disappeared right after lessons to meet her Eyeball Matthew having claimed she hasn’t seen him for a long time due to exams at Business school. Said she’ll be back later but as I had already suspected, we didn’t see a trace of her for the rest of the day. Apparently she landed a job selling expensive $300 denims. Haha.

Had a brief glimpse of Joeyee today in one of the IMD studios, courtesy of SS.

Found a FFFFound type of site for fashion trends, called Lookbook. Shifted through a few pages and found some really nice stuff to reference.
